My (soon to be ex-)business partner, Derek Scruggs, has done an interview with Colorado Startups to talk about the demise of our company, the Enthusiast Group:
We become part of a trend of founders of companies that didn’t make it sharing what they learned publicly. I think that’s a great trend, because the failure of a company is truly a learning experience — and it’s so easy nowadays to share that knowledge for others’ benefit.
I’m working on a “lessons learned” column for Editor & Publisher Online — since lots of newspapers currently are launching niche social networks that have much in common with what we tried to do for niche outdoor sports — and that should be done soon.
