Outsell sent out a press release today about some new research on search, and included was this gem of information:
“Press releases are becoming a treasure trove of information. In fact, they have overtaken trade journals as the top information source for knowledge workers, followed by trade journals and publications, reference books, academic journals, and textbooks.”
Wow. That’s a depressing data point for trade publishers. It says to me that the press-release wires have done a good job of optimizing their data streams to search engines, while trade publishers have lagged on that.
